Hello- I chat with another person on Yahoo. We both have Yahoo Messenger 11 installed. We login, do setup to verify video and audio and connect to chat.

We then make a video call. The problem is when I call her, the connection says calling but drops. Strangely enough, she can call me and we can connect.

I was curious what could be preventing my connecting outbound. I searched google and Yahoo but didn't find much except a video driver issue for Vista and Windows 7. I am running Win XP SP3. I did run their suggested download for the latest direct x runtime installer but still can't connect outbound. I went to NVidia site and their automatic updater said to update my video driver but I was nervous to do that since my computer is an old Sony Vaio that has a Sony version video driver.

Don't know if that would impact anything. It seems like maybe a firewall issue but the person I call has the same comcast cisco Netgear router supplied by Comcast although she has a telephony modem for her digital voice. Windows firewall perhaps is blocking a port in her Vista?
